City of Elgin Adds 1.0 Million Gallons of Water Storage at Pistol Hill Booster Station
Elgin, Texas – City of Elgin is meeting the needs of growing commercial and residential developments with a new water storage facility. “This $6,000,000 project is part of a $45 million capital improvement program that the City implemented in 36 months. Utilizing private sector partnerships, grants and American Rescue Act Plan funds the City only issued $26 million in Certificates of Obligation for these projects.” said City Manager, Tom Mattis. The Pistol Hill Booster Station will more than double the water storage capacity at the Pistol Hill for the community of 12,000. Currently, the City has 431,000 gallons of water storage onsite. This new booster station adds 1,000,000 (one million) gallons of additional water storage. The project includes adding additional pumps for pumping capacity, new electrical equipment, upgraded monitoring system, security measures, operator access, lighting and a generator to provide power during outages.
